This graphic novel, in Czech, offers an exceptionally honest and powerful account of life with sexual dysfunction. During sex with her longtime partner, Alix begins experiencing unexplained pain. After discovering that she has vaginismus, she embarks on a marathon of examinations and therapy sessions. She loses her desire for physical contact and describes what this means for a young woman, as well as the connection between the body and the mind. Her partner Lucas feels guilty, yet at times crosses the boundaries of what he can allow himself toward Alix. Together, they search for a way to preserve their relationship. The struggle to regain control over her body and her own desire becomes a search for healing, emancipation and love. In this wrenching story, the author also embraces humour and exaggeration, especially in the visual treatment, which is full of compelling metaphors and full-page scenes. The book won the audience award at the Angoulême International Comics Festival. For readers aged fifteen and over.
