Description
The "splitting of abandoned atoms, yearning for the thawing of emotions," is a verse from the collection Dance with Light, which says everything essential about its author. The first collection by poet Anna Pokorná shows that the tradition of nature and love poetry can still be continued even in the twilight era defined by the climate crisis. In her poems, love for both humanity and nature intertwines, various animals flit about, and interpersonal relationships hold the highest value. This love permeating all the texts is unconditional and unironical: "God! God! life and everything, / desire and the flames of wheat in barley, the trembling branches of the birch and the roar, and the howling wind says, I love you." The courage to reveal the simplest feelings and thoughts creates a refreshing impression amidst a flood of gloomy visions, almost like a revelation.
