This dark-academia fantasy is set in London’s Bletchley Park in 1923, in a world where dragons exist. Protests break out in the streets, but Vivien is focused on following the rules, securing an internship while studying dragon languages and ensuring that her younger sister grows up in the best possible conditions. Everything goes according to plan until Viv accidentally unleashes a civil war. Her parents are arrested and her sister disappears without a trace, causing everything Viv has worked for to collapse in a single night. When she is offered a risky job that could solve all her problems, she does not hesitate. On arriving at Bletchley Park, she discovers that she has been recruited as a codebreaker for wartime ciphers. If she succeeds, she and her family can return home; if she fails, they will all die. At first, Viv believes that uncovering the secrets of the dragon language is an achievable task. The more information she learns, however, the more she realises that the sheltered world in which she grew up is not as safe as she once thought. This expansive epic fantasy, featuring an enemies-to-lovers romance, was immediately sold for translation into more than twenty languages. The contents are in Czech.
