Description
This children’s book tells a story about friendship found in an unexpected place. What is it like to have a flower as a friend? Flowers may not say much, but if you had more time and listened closely, perhaps they would. Madla has no one with time for her, but through flowers she may find a true friend. Her family has moved yet again, and she is living in another new flat. Then Madla discovers a jungle balcony. A shoot stretches from it, coming a little closer each day. She only has to reach out and pull, but the shoot ends up in her hand, and she is in trouble. Gathering her courage, Madla rings the neighbouring doorbell to explain, and a flower opens the door, or rather, Flower. Flower’s flat is the opposite of Madla’s parents’ modern home, with plants growing everywhere like in a jungle. Each plant has its own story, sometimes poetic and sometimes almost detective-like. A whole new world opens up to Madla, and through this Czech-language book it can open up to readers too. For children from the age of five.
