Radek Malý's previous works already announced a remarkable transformation of his characteristic poetic style. Classical forms have diminished, and entirely new methods have emerged. The present collection features five polyphonic poetic compositions that intertwine the distant Husák-era eighties, recent pandemic experiences, and various unsolicited challenges of fate. Its message is pleasantly epic, 'jazzily' relaxed, with expansive and unconventional imagery. In his poems, he visits both imaginary and entirely real corners. Is it a herbarium or a bestiary? The poet is not afraid to reflect not only himself in variously curved mirror surfaces. He subjects a number of literary or cultural emblems to this test, but above all, what is referred to as today, our 'here and now.' In the words of one of his compositions: 'This is not Eden!'
