Description
What does human travel look like through the eyes of a dog? ***** Like owner, like dog. And when the owner sets off on a journey across Europe, his four-legged friend must faithfully accompany him. Or rather, patiently sit in the back of the car. The dog Barnabáš is the narrator of a travelogue that takes us from Horoměřice near Prague to Paris, to the Atlantic Ocean coast, and through Spain, Portugal, and Italy all the way to the Balkans. The canine narrator comments on the actions of his owners, and through him, we experience comical situations. A significant portion of our completely automatic activities appears absurd through a dog's eyes. Children often see it similarly and will soon find an ally in Barnabáš. ***** And what will young readers take away from the travelogue? Above all, a desire to discover new things, landscapes, and people. After all, adventure awaits just around the corner. And those who have marked all four legs of the Eiffel Tower will not get lost in the world. And most importantly: only on the journey do you realize what home actually is. Home is where you have your bowl and blanket.
