Searching for support in the current that sweeps us away. Climate change, drought, and other crises are transforming us, and it is becoming increasingly difficult to find sources of balance. The subtly engaged lyricist (but not idyllic!), poet of both external and internal landscapes Radek Štěpánek (born 1986) explores this situation in his collection. He finds solutions in leaning towards the ordinary, often overlooked realities of life, which he documents once as a pilgrim, at other times as a parent, partner, or simply as a perceptive, quiet observer of nature. Nice weather... With a touch of irony, one could say that if it always rained, nice weather would be dry. Perhaps it is the 'scarce' that we hope for, that we look forward to, and we can only see it occasionally. It continues to elude us because nothing in the world lasts and stands still.
