An experimental expedition into time, characters, and contemporary forms of the Czech novel. The concepts of time (narration), character, and novel do not allow the intellectual reader or researcher to quickly and effectively grasp them. They arise from a complex synthesis — the shared experience with people, time, and narrative intertwines with conceptual thinking and language, governed solely by the free law of literature. The monograph Time, Characters, Novel embarks on a unique expedition into the space of this synthesis. It utilizes hermeneutic models drawn from Ricœur's Time and Narrative, as well as results from cognitive narratology. The result is a fresh illumination of (the possibilities of) novel theory and interpretation.
