A fantastic travelogue through fictional lands. The son of a pepper trader, Dževik grew up on stories from the distant northern land of Olondria. After his father's death, he sets off to this dreamland of books on a trading journey. However, he is abruptly pulled from the idyllic exploration of local customs by the spirit of a young woman, who begins to haunt him. Will Dževik manage to escape from the unfortunate dead girl? Although Dževik's tale from Tjom about his journey from the Tea Islands to the mysterious Olondria can officially only be classified as fantasy, in many respects it is a genre-defying book, where prose poetry meets Le Guin's ethnographic study of imaginary nations or a travelogue infused with the scents and colors of Africa. Above all, however, this novel is a love letter to literature, books, and stories, and to the possibilities of words themselves.
