Description
In a world without hope, even the voice of truth does not sound sweet. When a mad and power-hungry ruler decided to exterminate all those he could not turn into soldiers, the world became a place devoid of science, art, and also hope. A place where it is not easy to offer comfort. For the young witch Henika, however, this became the meaning of life. Rejected by her tyrannical mother, but with her only friends — a reliable mare named Potvora and a magpie that hides more than one secret — she helps wherever her healing skills are needed. Whether she stays in a city whose gates cannot be left, with a group of child soldiers on a very strange mission, or in a castle where an exceedingly suspicious newborn has appeared, she must always carefully consider what she can lose and what she can gain. Pain and suffering take on various forms, but the torments in souls surprisingly resemble each other. Yet these wounds heal the hardest. And it is up to Henika to figure out how to heal the land and its inhabitants.
