Lela a Kika se hádají – Janišová Ivana (2022)

Every small child knows that there is an infinitely large difference between an unwrapped and a wrapped lollipop. Lela and Kika are cousins. They go to the same kindergarten and have a common grandmother who looks after them and takes them to the playground. Lela and Kika are best friends. And Lela and Kika also constantly argue — about who got better gifts under the Christmas tree, who will be first on the swing, and who will get the candy when there is only one. Their mothers don’t really understand it. After all, few people over the age of five grasp the seriousness of these life-and-death issues. However, Ivana Janišová understands it perfectly, which is why she wrote a book that does not judge, ridicule, or educate; on the contrary, it is very authentic, so even a three-year-old can understand that the author takes them very seriously. The humor in the core of absurd situations is presented with a non-ironic gentle wit that allows children to view conflict situations from the outside and gives parents the much-needed strength to manage two hundred thirty similar arguments a week with ease.
