Description
Life is always more cheerful with friends. Just as long as revenge doesn't creep in. Londoners Simi, Ronke, and Boo are friends for life and death. In a restaurant with Nigerian specialties, where it smells like home, they discuss the pleasures and pains of their lives at length and loudly: for example, Ronke's latest discovery, which hopefully won't turn out to be another unreliable freeloader, Boo's frustration with the seemingly perfect family idyll that is suffocating her, or Simi's strategy to successfully convince her husband that she is trying for a baby, even though Simi is secretly sabotaging that effort. When a fourth member—a wealthy, beautiful, and fearless Isobel—joins the well-rehearsed trio, it suddenly seems that all their troubles have easy solutions. But Isobel is not nicknamed Wahala for nothing. And wahala means trouble. Suddenly, it becomes clear that each of the friends has far more problems than before. Where does Isobel's desire to sabotage the happiness of other women come from? And how far is she willing to go because of it?
