Description
Uncovering the motive behind a murder committed in plain sight should have been easy. However, someone does not want the truth to come out. In the eastern Nigerian university town of Okriki, three college students are lynched and burned alive, and everything is captured on social media. Now, nearly two years later, forensic psychologist Philip Taiwo faces a simple task — to find out why the trio was murdered. When Philip accepts a commission from the father of one of the victims, he expects no complications — just a few questions for the police and locals, a visit to the crime scene, and a report written from the comfort of his hotel room. But the reality Philip encounters upon his arrival in Okriki is quite different. He faces a hostile town that no longer wants to revisit the tragedy, uncooperative police officers, and finds himself in direct conflict with locals and the university. It soon becomes clear that someone does not want Philip to be interested in the case — and will do everything to stop his investigation.
