Description
It is said that seeing a doppelgänger brings misfortune. Mickey Watts, a forty-two-year-old machinist from Maine in the United States, who came to the Czech Republic as a technician, is an ordinary guy. A turning point in his uneventful life occurs one night when he sees his doppelgänger in a forgotten corner of Silesia. Since then, Mickey begins to notice initially subtle changes in himself. Soon, physical changes are accompanied by behavioral shifts, and his once-beloved buddy becomes suspicious and prone to violence. Confused by this, he travels back to America, where he tries to find an explanation in his complicated relationship with his despotic father. But human psychology does not work that simply. Daniel Petr returns to the theme of family traumas after six years, following up on his successful novel The Magpie on the Gallows.
