Description
Once upon a time. The Virgin Mary died in Warsaw, poachers ripped open the bellies of capercaillies, masquerade boots were made from lion paws, caravans were barred in Persia, the full moon lent its light to hares for their fur, and above Prague, the magician Žito crowed. The Death of Old Maša, a collection of six allegorical stories, attempts to narrate the present as if it had long since happened, leaving only the remnants of myths — or, conversely, it is an attempt to seek in the present what remains of the myths.
