In the same year as both girls, Vitalij is born in a Czech village in Ukraine, who, as an adult, decides to travel to the dreamland of his ancestors. However, in Prague, he gets involved with a pimp and labor trafficker Luboš, who strips him of all illusions. And then a child is born, which connects the fates of all the protagonists and forces them to reconsider their notions of what it means to be a sister, a mother... but also a father. The novel Běsa is a multi-layered existential drama that loosely relates to the author's very successful novel Malinka.
