The short story novel Waiting for the Trigger by Lidmila Kábrtová is a chronicle of such passing, spanning over seventy years. The book in a concentrated form explores how seemingly unimportant decisions of some affect the lives of others and how an inconspicuous event can touch someone we have no idea about. Each of the main characters in Waiting for the Trigger tells from their own perspective, each trying to give their story meaning. And although finding one often means losing another, it is never too late for reconciliation and forgiveness. At least towards oneself.
