Description
A hunting party found a human hand bone in the stomach of a bear. Several months later, Sol-Britt Uusitalo is murdered in her home. Rebecka Martinsson and the Kiruna police begin investigating a case that at first glance appears to be a murder motivated by jealousy or resentment. When Rebecka is removed from the case and replaced by the unpleasant prosecutor Carl von Post, she decides to take all her unused vacation. She cannot get Sol-Britt's murder out of her head, stand aside, and let Sol-Britt's seven-year-old grandson grow up without family or relatives, without finding out what happened to his grandmother. Alongside the murder investigation and police work, an old story about Hjalmars Lundbohm, a Kiruna businessman from the early twentieth century, and his love affair with the beautiful teacher Elina Pettersson emerges. The present is more intertwined with past events than it seemed.
