Description
An unconventional investigator on the side of those pushed beyond the law by circumstances. Where does empathy end and violation of the law begin? Lieutenant Pech is temporarily called from Prague to Liberec, where his family lives. The new case leads him among members of the local Roma community and neo-Nazi cells. A seemingly trivial case soon takes an unexpected turn, and the investigation shifts to the well-known tram line No. 11, connecting Liberec with Jablonec. The bodies of girls found right there raise a number of questions: How involved is Pech's brother in the case? What to do when the investigator — unlike the reader — cannot see into the minds of potential criminals? And how far can one go in the pursuit of justice? Will Pech succeed, thanks to his complicated nature and quirky morality, where law and justice diverge? Right here, at the tram line No. 11, a somewhat unexpected new start to the hero's career begins, during which he will continue to fight against xenophobia, racism, and intolerance.
