Description
The author drew attention to himself a few years ago with his debut 'Pálenka', which takes place mainly in a Czech village in Romania's Banat. The autobiographical book 'Mezipřistání' is set in the reality of a Tbilisi panel housing estate. A new foreign land, new wanderings, new encounters; a new, incomprehensible language. And an increasing fatigue from the grayness and chaos of the big city, which the narrator tries to drown out with occasional escapes to the Black Sea, to the Caucasus, to Moravia, to Bohemia, to childhood... The fates of the characters, mostly harsh and bitter, intertwine with the narrator's fate and are captured in poetically vivid, rhythmic prose.
