Description
Going to Africa and experiencing its nature is a dream for many boys. However, not everyone later finds the strength within themselves to actually live out such a childhood dream. This is the story of a dream that really came true. It begins at the foot of Mount Libín and in the saddle of a bike. What all did its main hero become on his journey? What people did he meet? What did he experience in the sand and wind amidst the Sahara dunes? Why did he carry a pickaxe handle with him? Did he encounter his dream elephant in the jungle? And what did he discover about the darkness he had always feared? Join him on a journey through mountains, deserts, savannas, and tropical forests. My name is Tadeáš Šíma, I am 27 years old, and I come from Prachatice in South Bohemia. In 2016, I set off for Africa on my bike for the first time. I cycled from my hometown all the way to Rabat in Morocco, where I was ambushed by a group of young bandits who took my bike and my enthusiasm to continue the journey. However, my stubbornness prevailed, and a year later, I set off again. From the Moroccan port city of Tangier, I cycled along the western coast all the way to Cape Town. The entire journey lasted 7 months and covered 13,000 kilometers. That's about 650 Třešňáks. 1 Třešňák = 20 km (author's note)
