Neither his personal nor financial accounts show a favorable balance, and all the symptoms of a midlife crisis are appearing on the horizon of tomorrow. Grábl's attempts to find a way out resemble a roller coaster ride and often end in a hangover. Will his beloved profession, a mistress, or a new chance to return to interesting surgery and career growth help him? In the operating room and outside of it, it is often hard to tell who is playing what game, who is the winner and who is the loser, and where the next path will lead. Hynek G. often has no choice but to believe that he won't sink to the very bottom.
