Description
Ten-year-old Mila loves animals, especially insects and above all spiders. She can also “disappear from the world,” losing sight of everything else when she concentrates. Petr is in fourth grade but looks like a first-grader; he draws brilliantly and cannot sleep at night because he is afraid of the dark, or rather of what may be hiding in it. When he does fall asleep, he has terrible dreams. Katka has no friends, feels fat and ugly, and is afraid to talk to people. She is happy only when she is reading. Franta has diseased legs and uses crutches. Angry about his disability, he is often cruel to people and enjoys making provocative YouTube videos. These four meet by chance. At first they are not friends, merely strange children who spend time together, but then they experience something none of them will ever forget.
