Description
It is 1985, and eighteen-year-old Coco Pinchard returns home to London for Christmas after her first semester at university in Aberystwyth. She has hopelessly fallen in love with Daniel Pinchard, a devilishly handsome musician from a poor neighborhood, but her despotic mother has other plans for her and wants to introduce her to a 'good match,' Kenneth, the son of her best friends, who are coming over for Christmas lunch. However, the lunch takes a turn when the snobbish mother and her henpecked father meet Daniel's crazy mother Ethel, his sister Meryl, and the Christmas turkey Jean Paul Belmond for the first time.
In December 1992, seven years later, Coco is now married, and her son Rosencrantz is four years old. Like all other children in the world, he is crazy about the toy from Treasure Island. And when the kids go wild, so do the parents! Christmas is fast approaching, and Coco is desperately trying to ensure that Rosencrantz unwraps his dream toy under the tree. With her terrible boss, lazy Daniel, and the prospect of relatives arriving for the holidays, it's no wonder Coco wishes to cancel Christmas and sail off to some deserted island – definitely not Treasure Island!
