Se srdečným pozdravem (2026)

This Czech-language novel follows Jolene, who believes her interactions with office colleagues should begin and end with official work duties. Her method of surviving irritating coworkers who fail to understand the importance of boundaries is to vent her complaints in sarcastic postscript emails, change the font colour to white, and assume nobody will notice. But when an IT error gives her access to the entire department’s private emails, Jolene knows she should report it. Who could resist finding out what her colleagues really think of her? When she also discovers that redundancies are planned, she realises the emails could be the key to saving her job. Her plan is simple: win her boss’s favour, convince HR that she is indispensable to Supershops, and eliminate the competition. This bittersweet office tragicomedy about introverted millennial Jolene is both moving and funny, showing that seemingly bad decisions can come back to haunt us, while making the right ones is usually much harder. It also features references to contemporary pop culture, a romantic subplot and plenty of humour. Recommended by Julia Quinn and Taylor Jenkins Reid, the novel was nominated for the Goodreads Choice Award for Readers’ Favourite Fiction 2024.
