Description
This Czech-language adaptation of the classic horror story follows Viktor Frankenstein, who is obsessed with discovering how life begins. One fateful night, a bolt of lightning brings his experiment to life. Viktor soon decides that the two-and-a-half-metre creature with yellow skin and an empty stare is a monster. He has successfully created life, but his creation is now driven by a desire of its own, and death may be the only way out for both of them. Mary Shelley was born in London in 1797. She began writing Frankenstein in 1816, when she competed with her husband Percy and his friend Lord Byron to see who could write the best ghost story. Eighteen-year-old Mary won, at a time when women were not expected to become writers. Frankenstein explores life, death and humanity’s struggle with nature, while also reflecting Mary’s feelings of loneliness and rejection.
