Description
In a dramatic story inspired by the personal experiences of the authors, Karel is forced by circumstances to care for his mother Matylda, who has fallen ill with Alzheimer's disease, while also dealing with strained family relationships with her and his son Pavel. At first glance, a hopeless situation turns everyone's life upside down. The narrative of how they cope with this challenge carries not only tragedy but also humor and, above all, hope. The film Dance, Matylda is one of the most significant works of Czech cinema in recent years. It has received several nominations for Film Critics' Awards and the Czech Lion Award, of which it won two. Its book adaptation develops the characters and inner lives of the characters and expands the story with new motifs.
