In March 2004, the government of the Czech Republic sent a military contingent composed of members of the elite 601st Special Forces Group to Afghanistan. During this first combat mission of our army since World War II, our special forces faced a seasoned and very dangerous opponent. They operated in extremely challenging terrain and climatic conditions, directly in the places where Usama bin Laden had hidden not long before. The book narrates the story of this incredibly dangerous mission through the voices of those who personally participated in it. It is an extraordinary testimony. Most of the information it contains, as well as the identities of those who speak from its pages, were subject to strict secrecy until recently. The publication is complemented by two hundred unique photographs, the vast majority of which have never been published.
