Description
With the book Vanished Places, we will travel through the Czech Republic in an unconventional way - to places that once thrived with life and now only nettles, lamb's quarters, and thistles grow. Gradually, the people who remember these places are also leaving, along with their memories. Thus, a piece of our history is disappearing. Some of these places are well-known and some are even coming back to life, while others are almost forgotten. Yet, specific people lived in all of them, often with captivating fates, and interesting stories frequently unfolded there. The book is the first of its kind to cover the entire republic; individual chapters are divided by regions. Simple maps for each region contribute to easy orientation. So let's at least recall some of the vanished settlements, towns, and locations, and perhaps be inspired for our own trips.
