Description
This monograph examines human sexual pathology as it relates to criminal and civil law. It presents the rules, practice and current legal framework governing expert assessment, particularly in cases involving sexually motivated crimes. In accordance with the internationally recognised terminology of the 11th revision of the International Classification of Diseases, it introduces new terms for conditions related to sexual health and paraphilic disorders. Selected abnormalities of the sexual motivational system are explained through illustrative case studies. The book also summarises current knowledge about the impact of court-ordered protective measures on offenders’ criminal recidivism. It is intended not only for doctors and psychologists, but also for lawyers, criminal investigators, probation officers and social workers, and may support the development of forensic expertise, greater empathy and easier interdisciplinary communication. The book is in Czech.
