Komunitní péče pro nelékařské zdravotnické obory – Jandová Eva (2026)

This monograph examines community care as a way to ease pressure on the healthcare system while meeting the needs of people requiring care. It places the subject in the context of the global impact of the COVID-19 pandemic, which exposed the limited capacity of healthcare institutions during crises and brought solutions such as volunteer work to the fore. It also addresses demographic changes in economically developed countries, the growing incidence of chronic and disabling illnesses, the increasing demands placed on healthcare institutions and family carers, and the medicalisation of everyday life, which shifts the handling of many situations into healthcare settings. The book explains why these institutions are not always the ideal choice for users or for meeting all their needs, and presents community care as an important alternative. It provides current and comprehensive international and national strategies for health promotion and community care, together with an overview of available community care services, with particular emphasis on health promotion. It also outlines possible future directions for community care. Intended primarily for current and future healthcare professionals, for whom community care is now an integral part of professional training, the book is also aimed at social workers and other helping professions.
