Description
This Czech-language book examines the Karosa 700 and 900 series, probably the best-known products of the famous factory in Vysoké Mýto, now Iveco Czech Republic. These distinctive buses served urban, regional, long-distance and excursion transport, ruling the roads of former Czechoslovakia for many years. The 700 series were classic products of the planned socialist economy, yet they also found success abroad. In the mid-1990s, the newly designed Karosa 900 buses followed, developed in partnership with Western European manufacturers Renault and later Iveco. Thanks to these foreign partners, Czech buses reached a high standard and became an interesting export product. The book devotes equal attention to both product groups, summarising their origins and development while describing their technical features and unusual utility conversions. It also includes clear technical tables, unique full-page colour photographs and technical drawings.
