Description
This Czech-language children’s fantasy follows twelve-year-old Rosie Oaks, who lives with her mother Annabell, though something is clearly wrong between them. Rosie finds comfort in writing stories, but one night discovers a hidden book beneath the floorboards entitled The Witch Hunter’s Guide. Its author is none other than her own mother, and the book reveals that Annabell once fought an evil that still troubles the world. Thirteen invisible witches and wizards roam the earth, taking away what people value and filling their lives with emptiness. One of them, the Memory Thief, steals people’s memories and once enchanted Rosie’s mother. Now the cruel creature is preparing to strike again. Rosie must act before the witch comes for her. Armed with the knowledge in the mysterious book and accompanied by her unusual friend Germ, she sets out to fight the dangerous witches and wizards. Can she use her greatest weapons, words and imagination, to stand against the darkness and the overwhelming odds?
