The Wankel engine was introduced to the professional public in a practically usable form in 1960. This book discusses its history and the life of its creator, Felix Wankel. The world was amazed, and at first glance, it seemed that a completely new era of the internal combustion engine was beginning. Car manufacturers and other producers of combustion engines feverishly purchased licenses and began working on their own development of the Wankel engine. However, as problems grew, they gradually dropped out, leaving only Mazda from Japan, which produced cars with the Wankel engine until 2012. Nevertheless, the Wankel engine has not yet said its last word.
