Description
The book introduces programming parallel subprocesses, or threads, in the Java programming language. The reader will gradually become familiar with the concept of a subprocess (thread) and its basic properties, learn how to create, start, suspend, interrupt, etc., a subprocess. In the following chapters, they will learn how to use subprocesses in programs with graphical user interfaces (Swing and JavaFX), how to synchronize subprocess access to shared data, and how subprocesses can communicate with each other, exchanging data without conflicts. In the final chapters, the reader will discover more advanced tools, such as thread pools, and learn to program asynchronous computations. The explanation is accompanied by a number of comprehensive examples.
