Démoni balkánské války - Komiks – Dzuro Vladimír (2022)

The comic Demons of the Balkan War was created based on real events described in the bestseller by Vladimír Dzuro: Investigator. The story takes place during the war in the former Yugoslavia and the subsequent investigation and prosecution of war criminals. Among other things, the book aims to highlight the absurdity of the war conflict itself, the monstrosity of ethnic violence, and the dangers of false news in the media to those readers who have so far missed the textually extensive work of Vladimír Dzuro. Vladimír Dzuro served as the first and for a long time the only Czech in the team of the chief prosecutor of the International Criminal Tribunal for the former Yugoslavia in The Hague. He was tasked with investigating war crimes committed by Serbs in Croatia and western Bosnia. Thus, neither the comic nor the original book is a comprehensive view of the entire conflict, but they describe a series of events that led to the arrest of the very first war criminal since the end of World War II and significantly contributed to the initiation of the process of coming to terms with a bloody past and punishing the perpetrators.
