In the 21st century, nursing utilizes telecommunications and information technologies in the provision of nursing care. Tele-nursing expands the scope and demarcation of nursing care delivery to remote and small regions, enables the provision of nursing care during the extraordinary pandemic situation of COVID-19, addresses the growing shortage of nurses, and allows the patient to remain in their natural home environment. Within tele-nursing, the professional roles of nurses are expanded to include a new role – that of the tele-nurse. In the fields of multimedia, imaging methods, and telecommunications, continuous progress is being recorded, making them more affordable and thus tele-nursing increasingly feasible and accessible to the general population. Tele-nursing is an innovative element in the provision of remote nursing care and has a rich technological future in patient care. The new nursing approach implemented into nursing practice presents the views and interest of nurses in its practical application and the implementation of tele-nursing into nursing practice.
