It also addresses acute situations in oncology and malnutrition. The specialised section describes the most common tumours encountered by general practitioners and doctors in fields other than oncology, including tumours of the ear, nose and throat region, central nervous system, lungs, gastrointestinal tract, breast, female reproductive organs, kidneys and bladder. Rather than providing a complete list of all malignancies, the book aims to explain the basic principles of oncological treatment strategy through specific examples, tables, illustrations and diagrams. It is intended primarily for general practitioners and non-oncologist doctors caring for patients with cancer, as well as for undergraduate medical students.
