How many girls will die before their killer is found? Julia Schwarz knows a thing or two about death. She works as a forensic specialist in the morgue. Collaborating with the criminal police and investigating violent deaths is part of her daily routine. She enjoys examining her cases directly at the crime scene. When criminal commissioner Florian Kessler invites her to the discovery of a dead body of a young girl in the marshes, she doesn't hesitate for a moment. Ultimately, the findings from the crime scene are the only basis they can work from during the investigation. However, during transport to the morgue, the girl's body is stolen. A search begins, but instead of the lost corpse, another victim is uncovered. Julia is troubled by the suspicion that there might be a serial killer at work, even though the execution of both murders is different. The only connection between the cases seems to be the strange symbols tattooed on the bellies of both dead girls. Unfortunately, another dead girl is found, and for the investigators, the race against time begins. If there are not to be many more victims, they must understand why and how the perpetrator chooses the girls and what significance the tattooed symbols hold for him.
