Fair trade – Doležalová Hana (2021)

The presented publication deals with the fair trade business system, which aims to improve the position of producers in the so-called global South and ensure them decent living conditions. It introduces two main international fair trade systems managed by Fairtrade International and WFTO. The reader is gradually acquainted with the history, principles, benefits, and standards of 'fair trade' as well as current data on production and sales. The author illustrates the world of fair trade through examples of selected commodities (cocoa beans and bananas) and individual production regions (Latin America, Africa, and Asia). The publication provides an overview of the main themes of 'fair' trading, including detailed data. The text is interspersed with examples of the positive impact of fair trade on the lives of women and children. The conclusion is dedicated to development strategies from the perspective of international organizations. The book is intended for high school and university students and anyone interested in the topic of 'fair' trading who cares about the world around them.
