Biografie v péči o seniory – Procházková Eva (2019)

The book provides basic orientation for working with the life story – the biography of a senior when providing care as such. Biography represents an innovative element for care planning and is an important component of the overall structure of documentation, both for care in field services and within residential services. Insight into significant life stories that the client can narrate is an enriching value for understanding the elderly person being cared for by a young team of caregivers. As an entry model of care, the book presents the psychobiographical model of E. Böhm, which is based on the client's biography and seeks the path to the senior's soul through the interpretation of psychobiography as an emotional mirror for the psychological experience of aging. If we do not find a biography in the documentation in Czech practice, it is difficult for the staff to understand the psychobiographical dimension of care. The explanation of this issue is intended for all those whose activities impact the care of seniors, as well as for students and educators in social and health fields, including pedagogy and geragogy.
