The theme of the environment has undergone development over the last fifty years, and it cannot be denied that it is now becoming even more dynamic. Moreover, it touches on practically all components of society, whether they are business entities, various non-profit organizations, public administration institutions, or households and individuals. Each of these players is more or less affected by the impacts caused by changes in the environment, and all have the opportunity to adjust their behavior in the interest of its protection. ***** The book provides a wealth of information and insights that have a universal character at the outset, but gradually focus primarily on the business sector, which is a decisive player in the path to sustainable development within its activities. The intention of the authorial collective was to prepare a publication that would find readers among all those who are interested in sustainability for personal reasons or as part of their studies, whether they are high school and university students, MBA participants, or attendees of various qualification and retraining courses. It is also intended for practitioners who already have or are preparing to implement, operate, or improve a sustainability management system.
