It works as follows: the combination of easily memorable images with the word and its use in an example sentence allows for good retention of vocabulary in memory. Even better is if we can laugh at the connection between the example sentence and the image. A humorous or ironic connection between the word, the image, and the example sentence facilitates good memorization. The vocabulary is divided into five major areas of life and selected with regard to frequency, relevance, and usefulness. The words are thematically related, which further eases the learning process. The vocabulary is expanded by supplementary lists of words. Each word includes its part of speech, pronunciation, and Czech translation. Different parts of speech are color-coded, and the text includes information on usage and distinguishing easily confused words or other linguistic peculiarities, such as in the area of word formation.
