The phenomenon known as Lánská obora represents a symbiosis of natural conditions and human labor for several hundred years. Numerous events have taken place at many of its locations over different times, with specific people as their actors. This book attempts to outline what is essential and typical for the Obora, how it has evolved, and what has occurred here over time. The publication consists of two interconnected, thematically balanced, and equal parts: visual and textual. The visual section, alongside unique images of high documentary value, thoughtfully captures the rich cycle of the four seasons in Lánská obora with everything that belongs to each period. The inclusion of unique historical maps and photographs is of extraordinary significance. A substantial part of the textual component consists of a chronologically composed cultural-historical passage with professionally yet accessibly presented insights into the essence of the Obora and its development. This is followed by a mosaic of stories about remarkable places found in the Obora, about events related to them, and about the people who have worked here.
