Description
What would you do if you found a secret room in your house? What if the room belonged only to you, and what if it was not empty? This suspenseful story follows two ten-year-old boys who live in the same house but in two different realities. Alex moves with his family into a house where he creates a private kingdom in the attic, while Max moves into a house where a beautiful, spacious room awaits him in the basement. Soon, both boys notice something strange: Alex hears voices coming from somewhere below, even though his house has no basement, while Max hears a violin, although nobody in the house knows how to play. When the boys finally find their way to each other, they discover that they can visit one another at night. But their home worlds are beginning to fall apart, or perhaps to merge. The book was nominated for the 2024 Finlandia Prize in the children’s and young adult literature category.
