Description
The concept of shared parenting was created after many years of professional experience in working with families in situations of parental relationship breakdown. The previously used methods, burdened by insufficient coordination of the provided professional assistance, excessive use of expert opinions, and an overall confrontational approach to dissolving families, did not yield the expected results and significantly deviated us from standard international practices. Shared parenting represents both a theoretical concept through which one can view relationships between parents (not only in situations of family breakdown) and a specific system for organizing counseling modules, through which parents and children can be guided through the burdens associated with family relationship conflicts. This publication is intended for a wide professional audience that encounters families struggling with relationship difficulties, including the breakdown of parental relationships, especially judges, lawyers, social workers, psychologists and psychotherapists, mediators, as well as educators and healthcare professionals.
