The third volume of The Story of Czechoslovak Psychology presents eleven unique interviews with prominent doyens of Slovak psychology born between 1930 and 1950, including: Viera Bačová, Ján Grác, Anton Heretik, Emil Komárik, Ladislav Lovaš, Alojz Nociar, Jana Plichtová, Ladislav Požár, Imrich Ruisel, Anton Uherík, and Miron Zelina. The interviews not only highlight their rich professional careers and contributions to psychological knowledge but also their personal stories, life wisdom, and reflections on science and society grounded in experience and deep understanding. The challenges and dilemmas they faced throughout their careers have a broader significance, as they reflect the era in which modern Slovak psychology was constituted. Accompanying essays reflect on the position of the Slovak intellectual and academic psychologist in the complex meanders of the time. The interviews with the pioneers of Slovak psychology are complemented by their biographical profiles and spiritual portraits, as well as photographs mostly from personal archives.
