Description
The Winter Dragon takes away snow and ice every year so that spring can come. However, this year is different. The dragon has injured its wing, and there is no one to carry away the winter. When the snow and frost are at their harshest, the warmth of friendship, imagination, and the desire to help come into play. The book tells us that after we look beyond our own fear, we sometimes find only the sadness and pain of someone else. When we decide to help others, new spring can bloom from our kindness. The book won the Jury Prize for Youth Literature awarded by the Austrian Ministry of Education, Arts and Culture in Vienna in 2014. It was also shortlisted for the Austrian Award for Children's and Youth Literature. A story about compassion, love, and hope for children aged 6 and up.
