Description
The assumption that Jung, as a scientist, focused only on the second half of human life is refuted by a collection of his works on the topic of personal development. Here, the author addresses child psychology, upbringing, and individuation. He perceives the psychology of parents and educators as essential for the process of child maturation. An unsatisfactory relationship between parents can therefore cause a psychological disorder in the child. The ability of an adult to become themselves is akin to the maturation of a child, and the two intensely influence each other – thus, it is necessary for parents and teachers to develop their own personalities. As Jung aptly points out: 'Nothing has a stronger psychological influence on children than the unlived life of their parents.'
