Description
It is the year 1916, and twelve-year-old Klára's parents decide to hide her from the war in the English countryside with relatives. Her aunt and uncle, once so friendly and open, suddenly turn their backs on her. They do not answer her questions, they do not know what has happened to her parents, they do not want to talk to Klára, they do not want her to help them, they do not want her there at all. She is to stay in the house and not be a bother. Despite this, Klára soon discovers that her new home hides its own secrets: a locked room, a hidden key, a mysterious boy who appears only at night. And above all, a thief of exotic oranges. To uncover the secrets of the garden, Klára will have to confront a truth she does not want to acknowledge and the war she is desperately trying to forget.
